Here’s how it works. Each line has several versions, each version an edited version of the previous version. The large numbers on the side refer to which version of editing processes to trigger when the user click the corresponding ALL link. This is not the same as choosing which version to view! You can go in sequence (i.e. pressing ALL from 1 to 5 in order) to ‘correctly’ view each phase. Alternatively, you can choose to go by each individual edit for each phase (links 1 to 5/6 for each phase). Again this can be done in order for the conventional order.
The idea is that, once the user has got to grips with the workings of the program, he/she can then choose links out of order. This remaps the removal of letters, removing them at the ‘wrong’ point in the sequence. I wanted to include a controlled randomness to the manipulation.
